NCI boasts a vibrant array of 20 clubs, each designed to cater to different interests and passions. These clubs serve as platforms for students to explore their talents, develop new skills, and forge lasting friendships. Whether it’s literary and debating dramatic arts, dance, or music, our clubs offer something for everyone.

Throughout the academic year, our clubs actively participate in various events and activities, both within the school and beyond. Periodic showcases in the Chapel allow students to demonstrate their talents and achievements to the wider school community. Additionally, our annual club exhibitions provide an opportunity for each club to showcase their unique offerings and contributions.
A Glimpse into Our Clubs:
- SPORTS CLUB
The club aims to balance the overall physical well-being of the students and help them improve various skills in sports.
Activities of the club include simple aerobics, volleyball, table tennis, and basketball with a well-standard indoor court, and a standard football pitch to assist the students in achieving success. Some of our accomplishments include successfully hosting inter-house sports, weekly club activities and engaging our students in external sporting activities.
2. DRAMA CLUB
Welcome to our vibrant drama club, uniting students from JSS1 to SS3 in a celebration of creativity and expression. As an emerging club, we embrace a mix of seasoned actors and enthusiastic beginners, offering a supportive space for all to explore the world of drama. Through engaging workshops and collaborative rehearsals, even those new to acting discover their unique talents. our dedicated community focuses on bringing captivating plays to life, reflecting the commitment and spirit of every member. Join us on this exciting journey, where novices transform into confident performers, contributing their special touch to the dynamic narrative of our evolving Drama Club.
3. ICT CLUB
The club motivates students to use computers effectively to enhance their computer skills in MS Office equipment such as MS Excel, MS Word, slide presentations, PPT presentations and documentary presentations. The club promotes learning designing concepts through tools & technologies, photography, animation etc. That can be used as a self-learning module and others. Robotics is the highlight of the ICT club, where technological talent is being polished to create a generation that expresses our country’s exact future.
Activities of the club include Coding Mobile Game Apps, working in MS Excel (generating report cards), MS Word (designing invitation cards), MS PowerPoint (Slide presentation) and Animation for primary and middle schooling, designing web, Graphics design and poster making for higher grades, conducting the class on STEM and Robotics and awareness programs on cybercrimes and security.
4. JETS CLUB
The Junior Engineers Technicians and Scientists Club (JETS Club) is a club established with the aim of bringing and developing students who have talents and are gifted or wish to enhance their knowledge in the area of science, technology and engineering. It is also aimed at making students independent, creative and innovative.
At the club, we expose students to the practical application of scientific theories and engineering designs. We also take delight in exposing students to space study.
Activities of the club include weekly presentation during the chapel service tagged “The JETS Club Great Mind Segment”. The club has participated in various competitions outside the school, bringing back accolades to the delight of the school. Hence, the JETS Club is a place where every student aspiring for a successful and meaningful career in science, technology or engineering needs to be.
5. MUSIC CLUB
The music club of the NCI is a vibrant community dedicated to fostering a love and appreciation for music among its members through various activities including ensemble performances, solo performances, workshops and music appreciation sessions.
The club provides a platform for students to express themselves creatively and explore their musical talents. With a focus on inclusivity and collaboration, the club has successfully nurtured and enriched the talents of its members within and outside the cultural landscape of the school. from performing at school functions to winning awards at inter-school music competitions, the music club has consistently demonstrated its commitment to excellence and its passion for spreading the joy of music to all.
6. ARTS AND CRAFTS CLUB
The arts and crafts club is a creative community that gathers to explore various forms of artistic expression. Members engage in various artistic activities to help unleash their creativity, learn new techniques and express themselves through art.
Over the years, the club has participated in the school’s yearly exhibition, other activities include the weekly club activities where students are given a medium to foster a love for art, encourage creativity and also serve as a platform for members to share their passion and knowledge of art with others.
7. HOME MAKER’S CLUB
The club aims to teach the students basic homemaking and entrepreneurial skills. The club also teaches the students interpersonal skills that will enable them to relate well within and outside the home.
The club has successfully participated in the school’s yearly exhibition where the students have produced and exhibited all they have been taught ranging from edibles to household hygiene, house cleaning agents and accessories. The club believes greatness begins at home.
8. FRENCH CLUB
The French club aims to advance the French language and culture to its members, to offer members a setting in which they can practice and improve their language skills and to create a community of individuals who are passionate about French.
Activities of the club include drama, reading and reciting in French, songs in French and other educative activities.

9. DANCE CLUB
Welcome to the NCI Secondary School Dance Club, where rhythmic passion meets creativity! Our club is a vibrant community of students dedicated to exploring various dance styles and fostering a love for movement. Through weekly sessions, we cultivate a dynamic environment for students to express themselves, build confidence, and form lasting friendships.
Our activities range from learning contemporary dance routines to hosting lively dance showcases that showcase our members’ talents. With a focus on inclusivity, we celebrate diversity in dance styles, welcoming all skill levels. The NCI Dance Club has achieved accolades through captivating performances at school events and local competitions (2ND POSITION IN MUTAN DANCE COMPETITION 2023), making us a proud symbol of unity and artistic expression within our school community. Join us as we continue to groove, inspire, and make lasting memories on the dance floor!
10. THE SELF DEFENCE CLUB
Protecting ourselves from being harmed, injured or killed is a basic right of every human being. Thus, instead of leaving our students vulnerable, The NCI Self Defense Club is poised to equip the students with confidence, street awareness, balance, fitness, and improved reflexes adapted from martial arts training in arts like Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing and Judo.
The club has completed basic karate and Boxing as controlled sparring sessions and exhibition bouts were held to expose the students to the prospects and gains of participating in combat sports.
11. MATHEMATICS CLUB
The Mathematics club came out of the desire to help students appreciate Mathematics as a subject and improve their critical thinking skills.
Activities of the club include building the student’s mental ability to work with numbers and carry out basic operations with ease and without a calculator. Math Games where the players have to solve basic Math questions as a means of crossing an obstacle. Quiz competitions among the students help them improve in examinations and also prepare them for any external Mathematics competition. Research and Mathematical models to help the students appreciate the already established laws. Puzzle questions for students to reason logically.
Imaikop Udoka, a member of the Mathematics club was one of the two students who represented Akwa Ibom State in the Math Contest Nigeria which was held at Lagos State after a series of qualifying examinations.
12. SIGN LANGUAGE CLUB
NCI Sign Language Club is a visual-gestural communication system used in linguistic and cognitive skills development which also enhances employability and enables effective communication.
Activities of the club include finger-spelling (representing letters of the alphabet using specific hand shapes), facial expressions, body language, conversation and interpreting spoken language into sign language, recognizing sign language as legitimate language, learning the alphabet, numbers, colours, animals, verbs, simple requests/commands and responses, the National Anthem, state Anthem, NCI Anthem, the pledge, etc.
We participated in the school’s club exhibition where we signed the President’s speech, principal’s opening remarks, and other performances by various clubs within the school. We also have a chapel presentation every Monday where we teach non-sign language club members how to communicate via sign language.
13. YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS CLUB
The Young Entrepreneurs Club is a supportive community dedicated to raising and inspiring young individuals to become innovators, business leaders and change-makers in society through diverse activities such as ideas sharing, skill development, mentorship, workshops and access to resources.
Over the last two years, the club activities have spanned across the production of custard powder, mayonnaise, ready-to-sip garri, etc. The club has also trained its members on Ankara bags, shoes and belt making, headband and brooch making, gele tying, paint production, Tom brown production, beans flour production, leavened-baked goods, bowtie making, carrot potato cultivation, acquisition of intellectual property and exposure to digital skills of branding, marketing and distribution of products and services.
The club’s achievements within the past years include successful participation in the school’s yearly exhibition where we showcased the various skills learnt in the club, raising leaders and enterprising entrepreneurs. We also participated in the “Diamond Challenge for High School Entrepreneurs,” a competition organized by the University of Delaware, United States, and we bagged 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.

14. BOOK CLUB
The club aims to revive the culture of fun reading and aid creative writing among its members.
Some activities of the club include reading and reviewing books and engaging in the DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) exercise.
The club over the years have participated in inter-school reading competitions such as the World Book Day Quiz where it placed 2nd overall. the club has also attended conferences such as the Network of Book Clubs and Reading Promoters in Nigeria. The club has also played host to some notable and renowned authors like Mr Anietie Usen, Miss Ndeso Nyong, and Mrs Ini Ete.
It is our joy that some of our students have started writing their novels and poems.
15. BIBLE/INTEGRITY CLUB
The club aspires to create a supportive environment where students embrace integrity rooted in biblical teachings, fostering a culture of character, kindness and academic excellence.
Some activities of the club include Bible quizzes, draw your sword, Bible characters, ethical re-orientation and survey of Bible lands.
16. LITERARY AND DEBATING CLUB
The Literary and Debating Club is a unique club that is aimed at sharpening students’ reasoning skills, and enlarging their scope of experience through interaction with teachers and other members of the society. The club also help students develop and sustain sound language skills.
The scope and activities carried out by the club include debating, panel discussions, poem recitation, creative writing, public speaking lessons and practice.
The club under the leadership of capable hands has achieved great things. It has, for instance, taken students for competitions and returned with laurels. Also, it has transformed its members to be bold public speakers.
17. YOUNG PARLIAMENTARIANS CLUB
The Young Parliamentarians Club is an esteemed association of budding leaders, articulate orators and emerging young talents in the art of law-making.
Since its establishment at the Nigerian Christian Institute, Uyo, the club has remained resolute and committed to its core mandate of developing robust, well-rounded and informed young minds who will grow to become patriotic leaders of the nation in the coming years. The Club serves as a platform for leadership development by offering training programs and workshops to enhance the leadership abilities of its members.
Members have benefitted immensely from the networking and connection with like-minded students, and influential persons in politics, governance and public service. The Young Parliamentarians Club advocates for the rights and concerns of students within the NCI community through consistent dialogue with the school management. Also, it strives to ensure that the voices of the students of the students are respected in the decision-making processes that impact their lives.
18. 20 QUESTIONS CLUB
The 20 Questions Club in itself is a mind game between the moderator (chairman) and a panel. it sets out to stimulate and sharpen the intellect through the use of carefully disguised objects of interest which the panel unravel within the limit of 20 questions.
At the NCI 20 Questions Club, members are trained to be analytical in their thoughts and most importantly, to listen for details, especially those that were communicated without emphasis. the club also sets for itself the goal of developing its members to become volunteers, always ready to serve humanity in any capacity they are capable of and leave a legacy of impact in their immediate environment.
19. PRESS AND PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB
